Wall - Prairie House- Minuteman - Badlands- Batesland

Hi,Advice please, is it possible to visit the Wounded Knee Museum, the Prairie House at Philip, the minuteman missile site and then drive through the Badlands to Batesland in one day!! Or would I be better doing the Badlands on a seperate day. Are all the above visits worthwhile???We%26#39;d be starting off at Wall.CheersRoger

I think it%26#39;s possible but it might get to be a long day. You would have to plan your itinerary around the tour schedule for the Minuteman Site. You%26#39;ve probably already checked this out, but just in case...this summer tours are at 9 am and 1:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesdays are open house with tours first come, first served from 9am to noon, except the Tuedsay during the Sturgis Rally. No tours on the weekend and the tours last 1.5 to 2 hours. You should try to make reservations.

I would allow 1 to 2 hours each for the Wounded Knee Museum and Prairie Homestead, and 2 to 3 hours for the Badlands. It looks like the driving time all together would be 3 to 4 hours. So the total would be 9 to 13 hours. With an early start and some snacks and drinks in a cooler, you%26#39;ll have a good day.

I haven%26#39;t been to any of these, except the Badlands, but want to see all of them, especially the sod house at the prairie homestead. My grandmother lived in one as a child.

Thanks for your advice, I think to ensure we get the most (and dont rush too much) I%26#39;ll probably do the tours one day and then we can enjoy a leisurely drive thru the Badlands the next day. Your help is greatly appreciated

If you are looking for overnite options, we can%26#39;t recommend Circle View Guest Ranch enough! We stayed one nite last year and wished it was a longer stay. This sets on beautiful bluff, the view of the river valley is stupendous! Breakfast was good %26amp; hearty. Rooms were new.
