Dakota travel - flights

I would love to travel to North and South Dakota this summer, I heard July is best. Where should I fly into? I%26#39;m thinking fly into either ND or SD, rent a car and see both states (mainly parks, historic stuff). Any tips?

For South Dakota, you can fly into Rapid City or Sioux Falls. Rapid City is the heart of the Black Hills, but pretty expensive to fly into. Sioux Falls is on the eastern side of the state, and to get to the Black Hills, you%26#39;d have to drive across almost the whole state..about 350 miles. The last I checked, flights into both areas were running about the same price. Car rentals were running pretty high, unfortunately.

For North Dakota, I%26#39;m really not too familiar with the sites to see other than Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I have never visited ND, only SD. Bismarck is closest to Roosevelt National Park.

To save money, some fly into Denver, CO to see the Black Hills. You might check into this as well. The airport is larger, and flights are generally cheaper, along with car rentals.

Enjoy planning, and if you have any more specific questions on attractions, please let us know.

Thanks for the info! Flights into ND and SD are really high. I think we can drive from N. Alabama cheaper then won%26#39;t have to rent a car. Unless anyone else has any more ideas...
