HI, I am planning to visit rapid city in July and know nothing about the place or the people.
Would also like to know whats the cheapest routing to get there from the UK.
All advice welcome.
Thanks
What is rapid city like?
Hi,
It looks like right now that United offers the cheapest airfare from London to Rapid City (around $1,500 per person including taxes on Orbitz). You can probably go to United.com to see what their rates are. It could be less.
Rapid City is a relatively small city (population around 70,000). It is the largest city in the Black Hills region of South Dakota. When most come to the area, they are looking to see Mt Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Devil%26#39;s Tower National Monument, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Custer State Park %26amp; Crazy Horse Memorial. Most people actually fly into Rapid City and stay elsewhere in the smaller Black Hills towns such as Keystone, Hill City, or Custer.
Do you have any particular interests, such as hiking, American Indian %26amp; Old West history? You might want to check out some South Dakota/Black Hills tourism websites if you haven%26#39;t done so already so you can see what attractions might interest you. The nice thing about the region is that you will find a large amount of attractions in a close proximity. It%26#39;s one of my favorite areas in the US because of the diversity of attractions.
Will you be bringing any children with you? The Black Hills region has many attractions that interest kids and adults alike.
Let us know your interests, and we can help you even more. Have fun planning!
