Alpine Inn in Hill City

I asked this question in my longer post but it got lost so here it is again. After your recommendations we were planning to have a dinner at the Alpine Inn restaurant. Are there any other choices on a menu besides fillet mignon? I don%26#39;t eat beef so have to look for another dining places. Any suggestions? A restaurant not too far from HI Express where we are stying would be nice. Thanks

They only have filet at dinner. If you go for lunch, you will have a greater selection of foods, along with some of the best desserts anywhere. I am really not familiar with other places to eat in Hill City, but I am sure some others on here are.

Enjoy your trip.

slrtravelplanner, thank you so much. We just have to look for another place to eat. Won%26#39;t be able to go there for lunch, too busy with other things during our short visit to the area.

I don%26#39;t mind the Bumpin%26#39; Buffalo on Main Street about a half a block south of the Alpine. It%26#39;s a bar and grill but it%26#39;s family friendly and non-smoking. The food isn%26#39;t real fancy--it%26#39;s a basic American-style menu. But it%26#39;s a good place grab dinner and a drink.

There are several other places along Main Street you can look at.

There used to be a microbrew place that had decent food...unfortunately it%26#39;s been replaced with a Harley t-shirt shop. So goes the world of tourism.

Accommodator, thank you again. Once I get there I should check out you suggestions or of that won%26#39;t work for me I maybe need to get to the supermarket and get some stuff for a nice big salad. Is there near by a decent supermarket with a great produce department?

There%26#39;s a small grocery store in Hill City; I forget the name, but it%26#39;s the only ticket in town. For supplies, we found ourselves going into Rapid City quite a bit for better selection. I saw an Albertson%26#39;s, but we stuck mainly with the Super Walmart at the LaCrosse St exit right off I90.

Someone else might have another suggestion which might be better/closer.

slrtravelplanner, thank you. Maybe this little store in Hill City has to it but first I%26#39;m willing to try the Bumpin%26#39; Buffalo, recommended by Accommodator.
