We are two adults traveling in the Custer area for a couple of days late this month. Is the Laughing Waters Restaurant decent at Crazy Horse? Do we need reservations? Any other restaurant suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many people have recommended the Ruby House Restaurant in Keystone to me. We will be there the last week of May and plan to eat either lunch or dinner.

We were very impressed with the Alpine Inn in Hill City, as recommended many times here on TripAdvisor -good reasonably priced steak.
Big Time Pizza in Keystone would be okay if you just wanted pizza.
We were not impressed with the Ruby House Restaurant in Keystone - slow disinterested servers, bland food. Our experience does seem contrary to reviews here on TripAdvisor.
Good things about Laughing Waters are that it offers some Lakota menu items and it gives you a view of the carving while eating. I wouldn%26#39;t call it a fantastic dining experience but if you%26#39;re at Crazy Horse and you%26#39;re hungry, go for it.
The Sage Creek Grill in Custer is a nice place. They have a wine bar and a gourmet-type menu. Also in Custer is Baker%26#39;s Bakery for more of a breakfast or lunch type meal.
The Alpine in Hill City is a classic. German lunch and fillet mignon dinner--look out for long dinner waits in the summer.
The Custer State Park resorts typically have pretty good food.
In response to Noel-Donna, I have also had poor service and bland food at the Ruby House. They seem more interested in rotating tourists through their establishment.
We appreciate your responses! Thank you!
We had good pizza in Custer SD at Pizza Works. Inexpensive and good.
thanks for the tip! :)
