Mt Rushmore
Most of the posts in the South Dakota forum of Trip Advisor involve a trip that is centered around Mount Rushmore. Take a look at the threads over the last couple of months and you%26#39;ll get a good idea of what a lot of people do. Here is a quick list of the main attractions are in the area.
Mount Rushmore National Monument
Custer State Park (with Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway)
Badlands National Park
Devils Tower National Monument
Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway
Crazy Horse Memorial
Deadwood (National Historic Landmark)
Jewell Cave National Monument
Wind Cave National Park
Mt RushmoreHill City, Keystone, or Custer are the main towns tourists stay in. There%26#39;s ample lodging in these towns to satisfy every taste.
Besides reading over the other threads as Accomodator suggested, I would also order a South Dakota guidebook so you can get a good idea of the many attractions the Black Hills has to offer. (travelsd.com) Once you have more particulars of the trip established (amount of time in the area and attractions of interest), please come back with more questions. Everyone is glad to help.
There is also a Black Hills travel guide that has great info.
