Hi,
Ive read that you can buy a pass that will get you into most Nat parks and save you paying individually.
We plan to visit the Minuteman, Badlands, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer, Mount Ruchmore and Devils Tower. Would it be better for the 2 of us to get a permit for all the sites??? or pay individually??
Also where can we buy these from?, as the Badlands is our first stop could we buy one there?
Thanks for your help
Roger
Nat Parks Season ticket or pay at individual sites??
You can buy the America the Beautiful pass at $ 80,--valid for a year for car and (limited) passengers and covering all NP%26#39;s an NM%26#39;s and more places. See the nps websites for that. You can by the pass at your first NP, Badlands NP.
Nat Parks Season ticket or pay at individual sites??
Yes, you can buy it at the Badlands National Park.
One pass gets the 2 of you to endless sites listed on www.nps.gov
America the Beautiful pass is $80.00 and a great investment for a whole year.

Thanks or your help, really very kind.
I%26#39;ll buy my %26#39;America the Beautiful%26#39; pass and then we%26#39;ll not need to worry any more.
Custer is a state park and not a national park.
Mount Rushmore does not have an admission fee, they call it a parking fee, $10 per car.
You may want to ask at the Badlands to make certain the pass is good at the areas where you plan to visit.
Thanks for the info,I presume Custer will have an entrance fee to pay as well. Whats the best route around the Park, we really want to see the wildlife and the scenery at its best.We%26#39;ll be coming from Hot Springs and ending up at Hill CityThanks
Roger
Hi Roger,
That Annual Park Pass may not be very economical for you. Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Minuteman Missile Site and Mt. Rushmore don%26#39;t charge entrance fees. The cave tours and parking fee are not covered by the pass. Badlands entrance fee is $15 for 7 days and Devils Tower entrance fee is $10 for 7 days. Here%26#39;s a web site with some FAQs about the passes.
http://store.usgs.gov/pass/general.html
Custer State Park entrance fee is $12 for 7 days (not covered by the pass). These are all 2008 prices and may change by next summer.
If you%26#39;re planning trips to other areas of the U.S. as well then it might make more sense to buy the pass.
I agree with LiND. If you%26#39;re only going to the parks you mention in your post, it won%26#39;t be worth it. Of the parks you list, the pass will only cover Badlands and Devils Tower.
Tours at Wind and Jewell Caves aren%26#39;t covered by the pass--and admission for anything else other than tours is free.
You%26#39;ll have to pay for parking at Mount Rushmore regardless of the pass--$8 for the year. So you can visit as many times as you want during your stay for the single $8.
Accomodater, the Mt. Rushmore parking fee is now $10, I paid it Sunday. I don%26#39;t know when it was raised, but it is listed at $10 on the website, too.
Great...more inflation. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for all your advice guys
Cheers
Roger
