help with trip planning

Hello:

I am trying to plan a road trip from Chicago suburbs to south dakota. We are leaving on August 16th and plan to stay until August 22nd. I want to make the most of our time out there and need advice on an itnerary and good places to stay with 3 kids ranging 13 months to 11. What are the best places to see on this trip? Thank you.

The older kids will enjoy Jewel or Wind Cave .. not sure if the little one would... not strollers etc and lots of stairs. Also a drive in Custer State Park on the Wildlife Loop. If you go early in the day.. may see lots of animals. Also along this route is a place with semi wild burros! They are adorable!

Of course Mt Rushmore. Make sure you see it during the day, there is a nice trail around and also visit for the evening program.

We had fun panning for gold at Wade%26#39;s Gold Mill in Hill City.

Visit Sylvan Lake ... this area was in the latest National Treasure movie!
