Is it best to stay in Rapid City or Deadwood

We%26#39;re staying 2 nights in Keystone, and plan to see Custer and Wind Cave NP and Mt. Rushmore%26#39;s evening program on our first day as we drive in from Estes Park. On our 2nd day we want to do the early morning drive on Custer wildlife loop and then to the Badlands.

We need help deciding what to do next. Wanted to stay a 3rd night in Keystone, but the hotel was booked. So we will have 3 nights (Thur, Fri, Sat) before arriving at our final destination which is Jackson Lake Lodge/Tetons for 5 nights. Thought about staying 2 nights in Cooke City to explore YS in the northeast area, but that would be a lot of back and forth driving. Also considered Cody, but there is a biker rally there that weekend and it would be pretty noisy. Will appreciate your help. There are so many choices, it%26#39;s overwhelming.

I would head to Yellowstone if you can. Cooke City for a night, then maybe Gardiner MT. Also you can get to West YS on day 2 and 3.
