Suggestions for a trip from Texas to North Dakota

In July we are planning a family road trip...It will be my husband, my dad, and my mom...NO KIDS!

We will be driving thru Childress, Tx and North thru Kansas, Nebraska, and ending in South Dakota.....

I was wondering if there was anything in Kansas and Nebraska that was a must see?

On the way home we will be swinging thru Utah and New Mexico...Is there any must see%26#39;s in those states?

We are not in a big hurry...I have already mapped out my South Dakota trip but I didn%26#39;t want to drive by a must see!

Can%26#39;t speak for Kansas and Nebraska. But as for Utah, depending on your route. I would highly recommend Bryce Canyon NP and Zion. What route are you planning on taking from the Dakotas to get to Utah....thru Wyoming or Colorado?

Hi and welcome to the forum

You probably are driving us 83 aka the road from nowhere to nowhere-lol-. It%26#39;s a classic route and you can see what%26#39;s along this road at www.milebymile.com I would drive 83 all the way to North Platte and then take the nice stretch along North Platte River and see Chimney Rock NHS and Scottsbluff NM. Then north to SD. Driving via Utah is not on the way home at all, it makes a big detour. Before giving advice on that please let me know how long your trip is and how long you want to stay at places. Do you want to see Yellowstone NP also? In Utah never miss the NP%26#39;s around Moab but it already will be a 2 days drive to get there from Black Hills.

Tet

When you are in North Platte a good place to relax is at the Buffalo Bill Museum. This would only require about 1 hour. When we were there, there were a few picnic tables on the grounds and we ate lunch there.

Do you know your route through NE? Harrison, NE has a sundry store that serves huge hamburgers, that need to be shared. A nice step back in time is the sundry store. Cabella%26#39;s store in Sidney, NE is their headquarters. A great B%26amp;B is the Victorian Inn at Chadron, NE.
