My husband and I are leaving Omaha early in the morning and heading to Mt Rushmore. We are staying overnight at Mt Rushmore and then leaving the next morning for Cody. On our way to Mt Rushmore we wanted to stop at Badlands NP and Wind Cave. Is this possible to do in one day? How long does it take to get to the badlands from Omaha, badlands to wind cave, and wind cave to Mt Rushmore? One last thing, can you recommend any short hikes in the badlands. Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Omaha to Badlands is about 7 hours, time to drive through...Badlands to Wind Cave is at least another hour, part of the the more direct route (south from Scenic and then west to Buffalo Gap) from the Badlands may be a gravel road, or else to stay on paved roads you will drive into Rapid City and south (Mapquest directions), which is almost 2 hours. Wind Cave to Mt. Rushmore can take an hour, depending on traffic %26amp; route.
That is around 10 hours without any stops or a tour at Wind Cave, but it is possible.
