Thank you all for your helpful suggestions following my post of May 7. Here is our 2-month itinerary, after flying in to the USA from Australia in July. Suggestions please as to good thing to do for a family with 3 small children (4,7,8)? esp for our time in Montana. We%26#39;re hiring a SUV in Seattle and have booked accommodation in the national parks.

Day 1-2 Los Angeles

Day 3-6 Alaska (Anchorage %26amp; Seward)

Day 7-8 drive Seattle to Jasper

Day 9-12 Jasper NP

Day 13-15 Banff NP

Day 16-18 Calgary

Day 19-22 Glacier NP

Day 23-29 Montana

Day 30-35 dude ranch, Jackson Hole, WY

Day 36-40 Grand Tetons NP

Day 41-44 Yellowstone NP

Day 45-49 drive Yellowstone to Seattle

Day 50 Vancouver

Day 51-55 kayaking with Orcas, Johnston Strait BC

Since you posted this in the South Dakota forum, are considering adding time in South Dakota to your trip?

If so, I%26#39;d add about five days (which includes driving to and from) and do it either before or after your Jackson Hole/Tetons/Yellowstone visit.

In that time you could see Devils Tower National Monument, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Badlands National Park, Custer State Park plus multiple other sites depending on your schedule--Wind Cave National Park, Jewell Cave National Monument, Deadwood, Crazy Horse Memorial, etc.
