';Weird'; South Dakota?

Visiting South Dakota in September, and we are staying in Lead (outside Deadwood) for five days. We%26#39;re looking for some weird or quirky out-of-the-way kind of things to see in the Deadwood area and beyond!

There are four adults and no kids in our group, so we are looking for some great ideas for grown-ups! We will be driving in from Chicago, so is there anything we should hit in the east side of the state?

Thanks!!

You might want to stop in Rochford, south of Lead/Deadwood at the Moonshine Gulch Saloon. http://www.rochfordmall.com/saloon.html

Why Lead? There%26#39;s not much there. You should stay in Deadwood instead! More action and more to see and walkable to everything. In Lead you%26#39;ll have to drive to find something to do.

Coming from Chicago...stop in Mitchell and see the Corn Palace, Murdo has the quirky Pioneer Auto thing. Now THAT is funky. STop there. A group of adults could have some real laughs in that place. We did!

Stop at Wall for sure. Once you get out to the Deadwood area, you%26#39;ll see brochures on tons of stuff to do...never a dull moment out there! Check out Cosmos. I heard it%26#39;s cool but never been there.

There is the Flintstones Bedrock City in Custer SD and of course Devils Tower in WY, made famous by Close Encounters of a Third Kind!

This website has some cool places www.roadsideamerica.com They mention a place in Lead called the Presidents Park... large heads of presidents!!!

We are staying in Lead because...well, that%26#39;s where the fabulous rental cabin is! I like the idea of being just outside of the ';hustle and bustle'; anyways. But thanks for the great suggestions, I will take a look at them.
