Driving distances/Where to stay

We are making our final reservations and so far have one night in Spearfish and 2 nights in Hill city before heading toward the Badlands. We have a 3rd night to spend in the Custer/Black Hills area and would like to take our kids to Hot Springs and possibly tour a cave.

Would it make more sense to stay in Hot Springs or add a night to our reservation in Hill City? Its hard to judge driving time between things.

You could add to your stay in Hill City or consider a night in Custer. Depending on when you are going out there traffic should be fine (crowded between now and August 10 because of rally) and it%26#39;s not too far from one place to another depending on how many stops you make. Have fun.

Driving distances/Where to stay

I would try to add a night in Hill City. It%26#39;s about 45 minutes between Hill City and Hot Springs. Hill City is kind of on the way from Hot Springs to the Badlands anyway (there are various routes) so you won%26#39;t lose much time driving back to Hill City after visiting Hot Springs.
