If you have taken the jeep tour at Custer Park, how was it? Do you see a lot of the park or would I still want to do the scenic loop?
Any suggestions?
custer park jeep tour
We were in SD last week! Do not spend the money on the Jeep Tour. We saw 100%26#39;s of buffalo %26amp; other wildlife driving the wildlife loop. The key is going in the morning. The animals are more active. Stop %26amp; ask a ranger where the herds are. They were very helpful.
Have a great trip!
custer park jeep tourThanks, I really appreciate the input. Sounds like driving the loop is the best way to see the park and with your advice will go early.
Be prepared to take a lot of awesome pictures!
Be sure to pack some carrots for the ';Beggin%26#39; Burros.'; They%26#39;re one of my favorite things in the park.
Enjoy your trip.

Following up on this question as I have the same question... =)
We%26#39;re two adventurous moms taking two girls (5) and two boys (8) on a wild tour of MN, ND and SD (our husbands think we%26#39;re insane!) next week. We%26#39;re staying two nights at the State Game Lodge to hit the Black Hills sights.
We%26#39;ll be in a mini-van in SD...will the kids still get the full effect of the ';animal sightings'; if we drive it ourselves?
Many thanks!
To TravelHappyFamily--
I think you%26#39;ll do fine with the wildlife sightings going on your own in the mini-van; there should be no problems at all. (By the way, are you visiting the Theodore Roosevelt National Park on the North Dakota part of your trip?)
