Hi: I%26#39;ve heard that there is a hike that you ';must'; do if you%26#39;re in any kind of hiking shape. On this hike you see a vault where the tools for building the Mount were kept, and get to go up a little higher into the mount. Does anyone have any details about this hike, or maybe has completed it and can share their experience? Thanks very much!
Tough hike of Mount Rushmore?
You are referring to the Presidential Trail. And you%26#39;re right, don%26#39;t miss it. The first part of it is a boardwalk that is handicap accessible. The rest of it is a hiking trail. It is not a tough hike.
The Sculptor%26#39;s Studio is located along this walk and contains tools that were used for carving. The Studio is only open during the summer months.
Tough hike of Mount Rushmore?
It is relatively easy....an obvious incline, but paved and plenty of pinetree shading especially under the face stones. Be aware of the faceplate signs highlighting the %26#39;events%26#39; of each president......they are most likely right under the view of each of the four Presidents....
Ahh! Thank you both very much! The reports are very much appreciated.
