6 of us (4 bikes) are planning to be at Sturgis Rally for one day in Aug. 2009. I am wondering with all of us bikers where does one get lunch in Sturgis and how long is the wait at any of the eating establishments????
where to eat when at Sturgis Rally???
There are many, many eating establishments set up in Sturgis during Rally week serving everything from pizza to alligator on a stick. One of the most popular servings is Indian tacos. There is usually not too much of a waiting line unless you step into one of the sit-down cafes in town during peak times.
where to eat when at Sturgis Rally???
thanks for that info Lolly. Hadn%26#39;t thought of that but of course there would be venders everywhere i would imagine. Where did you stay and how were the accomadations??
We have a toy hauler and stayed at a campgound just a couple minutes west of Rapid City called Lake Park Campground. They have cabins, pull-thrus, and campsites with electric hookups. It is on Hwy just past the golf course and park. There are a couple of great rides from there to get to Sturgis quickly. We really liked it. Let me know if you want any more information; I%26#39;ll be glad to try and help.
thanks for the info Lolly.
I think we are going to try to get in at the Chief motel in Custer. We plan on trailiering the bikes to Wisconsin (from here in Mass) and then ride on. Chief is more than we want to spend ($149/night) BUT it is close to town to walk to eat (and drink) and they have a pool and hot tub. Have heard good reviews on tripadvisor about them.

Custer is nice. All hotels/motels out there are about twice as expensive during the rally, so that doesn%26#39;t sound like a bad price if the place is nice. I hope it is and that you have a great, safe ride. At least gas should be cheaper next year!
