K Bar S lodge

Does the K Bar S Lodge have a pool?

We are traveling with 10 yr old Grandson next summer and must try to keep him busy!!!

K Bar S lodge

No pool but an excellent place to stay. Actually we were so busy with other activities, the kids 11 %26amp; 14 never even asked.

K Bar S lodge

No pool but a great place to stay. You will be busy. Look for a pool in another one of your stops but you can%26#39;t beat this lodge for their breakfast and views. We were there in May.

Thank you! How far in advance should I make a reservation? We are traveling in July 2009 and plan on stopping for 2 nights on our way to YNP and GTNP.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Hill City and personally, I would have traded off the pool for the ambiance of K Bar S Lodge but the kids really looked forward to having their daily pool time after a long day out. I would say it really depends on what activities your grandson likes to do. In Keystone, there are plenty of activities (for a price albeit) to keep kids busy. For some kids the highlight of vacation is staying at a place with a pool.

We booked just a couple of months in advance. We decided to add an extra night and I checked back a couple of time the weeks before and eventually had an opening. We were there 3 nights and agree with the other post to find a pool on another stop. By the time we got back to the room at night it was 9-10 pm, time for showers and to bed so we could make breakfast by 8:30.

Thanks everyone! You have convinced me.I%26#39;ll make a reservation for 2 nights. We have a condo rented for 6 days in Gardiner that has a pool so that should be enough!

Where is the waterfall in the Rushmore area that you can go in?

Are you thinking of Cascade Falls near Hot Springs?

I would suggest changing your mind about staying in Gardiner, MT for 6 days. I would stay in West Yellowstone, MT instead. It has more restaurants, shops, and things to do than Gardiner. Gardiner has just a couple of restaurants and they are not good and not many shops, museums or activities for young people. We stayed in West Yellowstone last year and in Gardiner this year. We will never stay in Gardiner again!!!!

Singlemom, I don%26#39;t know where th waterfall is. I just saw some pictures of kids playing in it and I caan%26#39;t remeber who posted the pictures!!

Thanks CeCe,

I have read your posts about Gardiner and I do appreciate your advice however we are the kind of people that prefer the quiet of an area not to busy as does are grandson. We have rented a condo with a pool and will be cooking at home a lot. We plan on whitewater rafting, horseback riding and just driving and hiking around the YSNP and GTNP. From Rushmore we go to Cody for 1 night, than Red lodge and than to Gardiner for 5 nights. We will go to Jackson after that. DH and I have been in this area a couple of other times. Our grandson loves to read and relax and is not the kind of kid that needs tons of activities all the time. He just read the latest Harry Potter book in 3 days!!I%26#39;ll let you know how it goes.He does spend a lot of time with us on our farm in kentucky so we do know what he likes to do.I understand that different kids like different things and I do appreciate your input.

Hi

I am interested in this lodging but can not find a home web site for it. Does anyone know the website address? Any ideas on the costs?
