Hot Air Balloons

I am travelling with several others to Hill City in mid June. One of our members found a website for Black Hills Balloons and thought it might be fun; is anyone familiar with them? Know anything good or bad? Any thoughts on ballooning in that area? It%26#39;s $250 per person, pretty pricy, but if it%26#39;s a great experience we might bite the bullet. Thanks for any help you can provide.

We just came back from spending a wonderfu week in the Black Hills but this company really put a damper on our plans. We had been looking forward to going on this balloon ride from the beginning stages of our planning however we did not get to do it due to the rudeness of the owner. I called to make reservations and of course they did ask about our weight and while we are not skinny people we are not obese either. However the owner made rude remarks about how he would have to get out his big balloon and how it was hard on his equipment to take up four people who weighed between 2 and 250 each. I was so insulted that I hung up on him and would never recommend his company. When you have people who are spending 250.00 each to enjoy an outing with your company you should learn to treat them with respect. I find this company%26#39;s treatment of people to be totally disgusting and inappropriate to say the least. I would definitiely rethink my plans to deal with this company.

kj3000, Thanks for your reply. I also just returned from my trip and we did take the balloon ride with Steve B. owner of Black Hills Balloons. The ride was wonderful, he was knowledgable and fairly entertaining, it was a nice (but expensive) experience and included a traditional champagne toast at the flights end (very soft landing). I did not make the reservations so I don%26#39;t know about that aspect (had the person making our reservation been treated rudely, there would not have been a balloon ride...there are too many other choices to contend with that) but all the travelers on our trip were treated respectfully. One participant got sick because she over dressed and got too warm. We flew the largest balloon and had 11 people, quite comfortable except for the hot blasts when the propane is turned on. Sorry to hear about your bad experience but if you get the chance for a balloon ride (with someone else), go for it, it%26#39;s great fun.
