We have booked 2 nights on 8/22-8/24 at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge. This appears to coincide with the Kool Deadwood Nites event at Deadwood. What will this event do to the crowds in the area (some old big-name bands e.g. Bay City Rollers playing). Will they have the western shootouts in town during this event?

Kool Deadwood Nites is a big car show--yes, it will make for a crowded downtown Deadwood. But out at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge it will mostly be business-as-usual. I can%26#39;t recall for sure if they still do the shootouts in Deadwood. You might email the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce and check. (deadwood.org)
